SCOOPS JAZZ
TRADITIONAL JAZZ
The sound that Ruud developed on his tenor sax, was highly influenced by listening to numerous records of the jazz sax greats of the past, like: Arnett Cobb, Willis Jackson, Gene Ammons, Illinois Jacquet and Jimmy Forest.. It was Ruud's Dutch sax heroe Hans Dulfer that put Ruud on track of these Big Tenor Giants. Guitarist Nick Vos grew up with his fathers records of legendary jazz guitarists like Wes Montgomery, Grant Green, Kenny Burrell and Pat Martino (the last one is still alive). Ruud and Nick Vos decided to form a jazz quartet to honour the old heroes, resulting in an exiting straight ahead jazz quartet playing swing, ballads, latin, blues shuffles, funky tunes and more..
