  Every two weeks Ruud leads a jazz session at music café Ruimzicht ('Red Kees') in Burgerveen, Holland. After a short performance of Ruud's jazz quartet Scoops Jazz at 21.30 uur, the jam session for players and singers of all levels starts around 22.30 hrs. UNGAWA, Ruud's new 'Roots, Rhythm & Jazz' band played with great success at Dutch jazz festivals like Willemstad, Sneek, Zandvoort and Haarlem. These performances generated some nice video's that you can watch on YouTube. Click here to watch these video's.

On international dance production
Ruud played the sax licks and solo on the D-Reflection Saxtimes Remix (6:10). This remix is part of the the Sometimes Hanna feat. Ajazmir EP that was released in june 2009 by the American dance label Blockhead Records. DJ's and dance lovers can download this track for 1.99 dollar at the international dance/DJ download site Traxsource.com. Click here to go to the concerning page: it is track number 4. Tenor saxophonist Ruud de Vries from Holland improvises within various musical styles. Ruud is booked often to play along with DJ's and runs his new exciting Afroroots jazz band: UNGAWA. Besides the performances with his bands Ruud developed his ability to play along with DJ's.Ruud played with top DJ's like Eric E., Ronald Molendijk, Jean, Melly Mel, Miss Monica and DJ La-Ona. Ruud can be booked to play 'solo' with a DJ, but Ruud can also bring his own DJ for your party or event.

TRIBUTE TO THE
TEXAS TENORS		  
Ruud and tenor saxophonist Boris van der Lek bring new life in the old jazz 'tenor battle' tradition. Together with a 3rd big sound tenor player, they perform the famous jazz repertoire as performed by the legendary 'Texas Tenors' like llinois Jacquet and Arnett Cobb (photo right).
